Supro Amps, Guitars and Pedals Martinique Deluxe on RigShare
Historic Reissue The Martinique Deluxe is a reproduction of the top-of-the-line, piezo- and vibrato bar-equipped fiberglass Supro electric guitar that was manufactured in the early 1960s. The Martinique Deluxe mates a chambered body with a newly developed, composite “Acousti-glass” top. This updated construction preserves the instrument’s Art Deco aesthetics as well as the signature blend of piezo and magnetic pickups, while improving its semi-hollow acoustic resonance and tuning stability. The Martinique’s vintage-correct tuners, vibrato bar and adjustable, piezo-equipped rosewood bridge are joined by a faithful replica of the legendary Vistatone pickup to bring you a fully realized and worthy reissue of this classic Supro guitar. Vistatone Pickups The Vistatone pickups found in the Supro Martinique are a reproduction of the groundbreaking, single coil design developed for Valco by Ralph Keller in the early 1950s. The Vistatone pickup is cited as prior art in Seth Lover’s PAF patent and is found in many of the most desirable vintage Supro models. Legendary Sound The Supro Martinique is acoustically resonant, and this voice translates through the bridge-mounted piezo pickup, which can be used independently or blended with the magnetic Vistatone pickups using a 50’s-wired master volume. This allows for precision volume control without disturbing the blend of the piezo and magnetic pickups. With its wide body and arsenal of vintage pickups, the Martinique is more versatile and potent than any other Supro guitar model. The neck pickup sounds huge and wooly, while the bridge pickup has an unmistakable midrange growl that is downright dirty. Blending these sounds with the piezo bridge output creates tones unlike any other instrument on the market. Our semi-hollow recipe of an Acousti-glass top and semi-hollow body retains the unique sonic characteristics of the original piezo-equipped Supro Martinique guitar while providing today’s musicians with a lightweight, highly playable instrument that stays in tune and is easy to maintain. Americana Series The Martinique and its relatives in the Americana Series of Supro electric guitars were designed by Trevor Wilkinson and David Koltai to capture the spirit and sound of the Art Deco-influenced, historic line of Supro instruments manufactured in Chicago by Valco during the guitar boom of the 1960s.

Hampton

Vintage Inspiration The Hampton is a 21st-century update of the Supro electric solidbody guitar. The elegant comfort of the 1960’s-era beveled-edge Ozark body shape and the mighty sound of the original field-coil pickups have been enhanced with an ultra-fast satin neck, Tune-o-matic bridge and updated wave tailpiece. The result is a modern player’s instrument with old-school style and authentic Supro tone! Gold Foil Pickups The Hampton’s Gold Foil pickups use the same internal construction as the original “Clear-tone” pickups, providing a massive, broadband sound with remarkably low noise for a single-coil design. The mini-humbucker-sized version of the Supro Gold Foil pickup found in this guitar has the same internal construction as the humbucker-sized versions found in the other Island Series models. The Hampton’s bridge pickup is wound slightly hotter than the others, while the middle pickup is RWRP, providing fully hum-cancelling sound in the “2 and 4” positions of the 5-way blade switch. Modern Construction The time-tested tone-wood recipe of an alder body paired with a 25 ½”-scale maple neck and rosewood fretboard combine with the Hampton’s vintage-correct pickups to produce an exceptionally dynamic playing experience. Blending vintage American tone with refined set-neck design, the Supro Hampton is intended for the professional musician who needs an ergonomic and versatile guitar capable of handling most genres of music with authority. The three pickups cover a huge range of tones, from fat single-coil jazz tones in the neck position to spanky funk tones and sparkling twang in the middle, and pure rock power when the bridge pickup is selected.

Vintage Inspiration The Westbury is a 21st-century update of the Supro electric solidbody guitar. Gold Foil Pickups The unique Gold Foil pickups found in the Supro Westbury are faithful reproductions of the original magnetics developed for Valco by Ralph Keller in the early 1950s. These pickups, which gave voice to the vintage Chicago-made Supro guitars, have a massive, broadband sound with remarkably low noise for a single-coil design. The humbucker-sized Gold Foil bridge pickup found in the Westbury is slightly overwound, while the neck pickup is reverse-wound in order to provide fully hum-cancelling sound when the two pickups are combined by selecting the middle position of the 3-way toggle switch. Modern Construction The time-tested tone-wood recipe of an alder body paired with a 25 ½”-scale maple neck and rosewood fretboard combine with the Westbury’s vintage-correct pickups to produce an exceptionally dynamic playing experience. The Westbury’s dual-pickup configuration lets the player switch effortlessly between warm, single-coil neck pickup sounds, throaty bridge tones, or a perfectly balanced, parallel combination of both pickups for rhythm work.
