314ce
Our popular Grand Auditorium 314ce is an acoustic workhorse that performs equally well in the practice room, recording studio, and on stage. This latest edition features our acclaimed V-Class bracing, a revolutionary innovation in acoustic sound that responds with greater musicality and harmonic agreement. By introducing a more orderly vibration to the guitar's top, V-Class bolsters the sustain and volume to offer players a more dynamic voice to explore, while also resolving the minor intonation issues that players have long had to contend with. Together with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid sapele back and sides, you can expect a balanced and articulate blend of top-end brightness, midrange fullness, and low-end warmth that accommodates an array of playing styles. Appointments include black binding, Gemstone fretboard/peghead inlays in Italian acrylic, and satin-finish back and sides with a gloss top. A Venetian cutaway invites your fretting hand up the neck, while our proprietary ES2 electronics serve up faithful plugged-in tone. The guitar ships in a deluxe hardshell case.

This limited edition Grand Auditorium marks the first-time we’ve paired walnut with a torrefied spruce top. Our torrefaction process roasts the wood in a way that mimics the wood’s natural aging process, altering its cell structure to produce a sweeter, more responsive sound. Walnut’s tonal personality tends to combine some of maple’s transparency with the dry properties of mahogany. Together with the torrefied top and our Grand Auditorium body, players can expect a touch-sensitive response reminiscent of a walnut guitar that’s been played in. Tasteful appointments include mother-of-pearl Century fretboard inlays, faux tortoise binding, and an all-gloss body, with onboard Expression System® 2 electronics.

314 (2015)
The 314 responds well to a wide range of playing styles thanks to Taylor's medium-size Grand Auditorium body. Sapele shares mahogany's lively tonal response and, together with a Sitka spruce top, rings out with a brightness and clarity that give these guitars a definitive Taylor voice. Black binding flanks sapele's ribbon-like grain, with Italian acrylic dot fretboard inlays adding a clean touch.

Cedar's warm midrange overtones and quick response make it a coveted top wood among fingerstylists and other players with a lighter touch. On this mahogany/cedar cutaway Grand Auditorium, V-Class bracing lifts those sonic virtues to new heights, serving up an even more powerful all-around response with billowing sustain. Add to that the bundle of sonic refinements that V-Class brings, including more powerful notes all the way up the fretboard and greater in-tuneness between the notes (thanks to a more orderly response from the top), and you've got a guitar that can cover a lot of ground. Mahogany's naturally dry, focused voice emphasizes the midrange, lending a warm, clear punch that strummers, blues players will especially appreciate. Appointments include faux tortoise shell binding and pickguard, a faux tortoise/ivoroid rosette, and our striking Century fretboard inlay scheme in grained ivoroid with a new peghead inlay to complement the motif. With onboard Taylor ES2 electronics, you can count on natural-sounding amplified acoustic tone whenever you need it. The guitar also features a Venetian cutaway for upper-fretboard access, and ships in a deluxe hardshell case.

Builder's Edition 614ce
Taylor design guru Andy Powers conceived our Builder’s Edition collection to deliver a next-level, player-centric experience in both feel and sound. Each model in this family is the equivalent of his director’s cut version of its standard model counterpart, boasting premium woodworking details that refine the playing comfort on both the body and neck. The Builder’s Edition 614ce features our popular Grand Auditorium body, a torrefied Sitka spruce top, back and sides of figured Big Leaf maple, and our patented V-Class bracing. That combination yields an ultra-responsive, player-reflective sound, elevating maple’s natural transparency in a way that can sound warm, bright or whatever a player’s hands decide. The V-Class architecture improves the volume, sustain and projection, and creates more harmonic agreement between notes by putting the top more in tune with the strings. Our proprietary roasting process for the Sitka spruce top lowers the damping effect and helps deliver a more played-in tone. Ergonomic body details (exclusive to Builder’s Edition) include a beveled armrest with beveled body edge treatment; a double-carved cutaway that allows fluid access to the higher frets without the need to change one’s hand position; and our new Silent Satin finish, which reduces contact noise for a cleaner overall sound. Gold Gotoh 510 tuners (featuring a 21:1 gear ratio) complete the suite of tactile delights. Striking aesthetic details include a new Wild Honey Burst on the back, sides and neck (an optional burst-top version is also available), our mother-of-pearl Sceptor fretboard/peghead inlay, and inset maple/black body purfling with matching rosette. The guitar comes equipped with our ES2 electronics and ships in a deluxe hardshell case.
514 (2014)
Mahogany yields its inspiring tone readily, with a strong, breathy midrange and a fundamental focus. A cedar top imparts extra warmth to complement that voice and slightly lowers the overall volume ceiling compared to a denser spruce or mahogany top. The versatile Grand Auditorium 514 is a great option for fingerpickers and light-to-medium strummers for its blend of warmth and compression. The neo-vintage appointment package includes an grained ivoroid rosette, grained ivoroid binding, and a Century fretboard inlay.
524ce
This all-mahogany cutaway Grand Auditorium enjoys a sonic upgrade with addition of V-Class bracing. Mahogany typically delivers a focused sound with a full midrange, and a hardwood top like mahogany adds a natural compression to the response, helping to create a balanced articulation across the tonal spectrum, which benefits lively strummers. The V-Class treatment allows those sounds to flourish with greater volume, longer sustain, and more harmonic agreement between notes, which helps chords sing in a whole new way. A shaded edgeburst around the body and neck adds a vintage treatment to the dark, rich-grained mahogany, and the top has been left pickguard-free to preserve the rootsy character of the wood. Understated appointments include grained ivoroid Century fretboard inlays with a new peghead inlay, faux tortoise shell binding, and a faux tortoise/ivoroid rosette. The guitar comes equipped with our proprietary ES2 electronics, and ships in a deluxe hardshell case.
614ce (2015)
Our maple/spruce Grand Auditorium has always been a versatile performer, and this edition boasts an array of tone-enhancing refinements that transform maple's tone profile into a richer, warmer and more complex voice. As a result, players can expect an even more dynamic and expressive musical tool. Design nuances include a maple-specific back bracing profile and a special seasoning process for the spruce top called torrefaction, a method of roasting the wood to produce an aged tonal character with greater acoustic resonance and responsiveness. Other touches include the use of protein glues to optimize the tonal transfer between key wood components and an ultra-thin, 3.5-mil gloss finish to minimize dampening. A new, hand-rubbed "Brown Sugar" stain on the back and sides gives maple's striking figure a beautiful violin-hued appearance without adding extra thickness to the finish. Featured appointments include ivoroid Wings fretboard inlays, an inlaid ebony backstrap, ebony binding with ivoroid purfling, an ebony/ivoroid rosette, and a striped ebony pickguard, along with Taylor's Expression System® 2 acoustic electronics. The guitar comes with a deluxe hardshell case.
814ce-SB
This 814ce brings a beautiful aesthetic enhancement - a tobacco sunburst top - to our award-winning flagship model. What's even more impressive is that a breakthrough color application process allows us to apply the rich color treatment without adding any material thickness to our ultra-thin gloss finish, preserving the premium tone-producing capability of this versatile Grand Auditorium guitar. Musically it can cover a lot of ground - its balance, warmth and articulation are great for fingerstyle, it has enough punch as a strummer to front a band, and the top-end power will fuel lead runs without getting shrill. It's a great choice for a gigging player looking for one guitar that can cover it all. The revoicing of the 800 Series has brought greater warmth, a more mature midrange, and a looser, more luxurious low end to the 814ce, thanks in part to customized bracing. Premium appointments include maple binding and back strip, rosewood top edge trim, a rosewood pickguard, Taylor's Element fretboard inlay in mother-of-pearl, a marbled fretboard, and new Expression System 2 acoustic electronics. The guitar features a Venetian cutaway and includes a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.
