Jazz Fest Series Snare Drum
The presence of a generation returns! Ludwig is known for having the most extensive catalog of collectible drums. The 5.5"x14" Jazzfest snare is a “big fish” on that long list. First introduced to the market in the 1950s as the Buddy Rich Model Snare Drum, the Jazzfest took on its first form in the early 1960s as a 5.5" depth snare. This version of the Jazzfest would come to join the iconic line-up of tracks that Ludwig snares drums dominate. It features a 3-ply Legacy Mahogany shell, vintage ‘64 snare bed, 8 twin lugs, 3-step baseball bat tone-control and a white “Reso-Coat” interior.

We've taken a 1.2mm steel shell and added large hammering to it to focus the tone and give a slightly dryer overall attack. This not only adds to the overall sound but also gives these drums a stunning visual appeal, making them an integral additional to any setup. Available in 5, 6 and 8 inch depths.

Sonically between a brass and copper shell, bronze is a very musical metal, as shown by its use in cymbal making for years. Bronze snares are somewhat darker than their brass counterparts, but still have a clear, defined high end and great stick articulation. The 1mm polished Bronze shell also comes with our Micro-Sensitive throw, 42-Strand snare wires, die cast hoops and aSnap-In' key holder.
