6 Slot High Current lunchbox®
The API 500-6B lunchbox is a 6-slot rack designed to accept all API standard 5.25" X 1.5" modules. This quality allows an engineer the flexibility to bring along specialized EQ effects to any situation: 550A, 550b or 560. The lunchbox has an internal power supply with a rear panel selected AC voltage switch and a removable power cord. The input/output jacks are XLR. The lunchbox comes standard with a +48 volt internal phantom power supply, bussed to pin 15 for interface with the API 512c Mic Preamplifier. API makes several modules for the 500-6B, including the 512c Mic Preamplifier, the 525 Compressor, the 527 Compressor, the 550A 3-band EQ, the 550b 4-band EQ and the 560 Graphic EQ. Combinations of these modules make perfect stereo recording packages (two 512cs and two 550bs) or vocalist's box (one 512c, two EQs and one 527).
Tube Tape Echo
Fulltone Tape echoes are the best sounding and feeling echo devices you will ever play through, and if you buy one I bet that you will own it for the rest of your life. It's not easy or cheap hand-building Tape Echoes in the USA, in California, none the less. It is an intense labor of love and a source of pride because honestly no one else can do it but me...or they would.
More. That’s the best way we can describe the sounds and features of the Wavelength. We took everything from our Waveland Multi-Modulator and blew it up larger than life, while keeping it the exact same size. We’ve added some welcome improvements like more modulation engines and tap tempo, and some cool surprises like selectable waveforms. It’s a true all-in-wonder for your modulation needs.
What is Expanse? It's a reverb, an echo, a shimmer and a chorus. It's all of these and more! Expanse can be programmed as any effect in Expanse Software: Reverb (Wet, hall, plate, spring, modulated); Shimmer; Echo, with/without reverb; Chorus or Detune, with/without reverb; Flanging;Phasing, Phased Doubling; Tremolo.
RC. 436 C Compressor Amplifier
The 436C Compressor Amplifier is a self-powered, level-controlling amplifier with a versatility which makes it a desirable part of most audio installations. In response to a strong input signal, it will reduce gain up to 30 db automatically, rapidly, and quietly, without the introduction of thumps. The 436C utilizes variable threshold/compression ratio and release time controls, permitting maximum flexibility in virtually any type of installation. The 436C Amplifier is intended for use in automatic level-control applications in recording. The front panel contains all controls and a meter which indicates db of compression and VU. A gain control is provided at the input, and the input and output transformers permit use on balanced lines. The 436C occupies only 2 unit of rack space in the standard rack. The wide range of application and excellent performance of this compressor amplifier will make it a valuable part of any good sound system.
The Shadow Hills Dual Vandergraph is a direct descendant of the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor and maintains its reputation of unquestionable quality and exceptional performance - in a 500 Series format. It’s inner workings are developed from the discrete gain cells of the Mastering Compressor which are combined with the Optograph’s extremely flexible Sidechain Filter matrix. This combination provides great possibilities for new recording techniques and the dynamic control. This stereo compressor’s fully discrete audio path is Class-A and features Shadow Hills' custom Iron Transformers. The controls are: Ratio, Filter, Compression and Output Level. Just like the Mastering Compressor, the Compression and Output Level controls are Swiss made twenty-four position attenuators. The Ratio switch, selects between: 1.2: 1, 2.5: 1, 4: 1, 8: 1. In addition to changing ratios, each selection changes preset attack and recover times. The Sidechain Filter Matrix controls the frequency sensitivity of the side-chain. The positions are: 90 hertz, 150 hertz, 250 hertz and Bandpass.
Mono Gama Microphone Preamp
The Mono GAMA is the single-channel API 500 Series version of the Golden Age Microphone Amp, with all the capabilities, features, and quality of the original. The Shadow Hills Mono Gama is centered around our custom discrete op-amp. This no-compromise design exudes hugeness, fidelity, punchiness and depth, across the full frequency range, without becoming veiled or choked. The preamplifier input is transformer balanced and utilizes an original Jensen input transformer. We couldn't decide which vintage output transformer we liked best, so we had our favorites perfectly recreated, and included them all. You can change the output transformer by cranking the knob, thus changing the tonal capabilities to compliment to whatever material you are recording. This allows you to audition different settings to find the perfect match for microphone or direct input without patching and un-patching other preamps, and possibly alleviating the need for EQ. Choose between Nickel, Discrete, or Steel settings. Each transformer position is stellar unto itself, but the capability of switching between them is like having three great pre's in one. All the standard Mic-pre features are present: phantom power, phase reverse, a twenty dB pad, and direct input. We have also included the ability to pad and reverse the phase of the Direct Input. Quality is unmatched. Engraved front panels, a twenty four position swiss made attenuator for gain control, custom made knobs, and engraved serial number plates, set the build apart.
