BB-1X Bass Driver
The BOSS BB-1X Bass Driver is a premium stompbox designed to make your bass sound bold and punchy. More than just a standard compact bass pedal, the BB-1X is like a preamp, a crucial component in creating quality sound. It captures the essence and subtle nuances of your bass, amp, and playing and emphasizes all their best characteristics. Incorporating BOSS’ latest MDP technology, the BB-1X delivers a wide range of superior sounds, from natural clean tones to heavy distortion. It adapts and responds to any playing style or register, but never loses the body and core tone of your instrument. The BB-1X’s natural-sounding distortion preserves the high definition and dynamics reflected in the finest details of your sound. The BB-1X provides a clear sonic outline to enhance your sound, yet never muffles your low end. With the Blend knob, you can easily adjust your tone by mixing the direct signal with the effect sound. Low, High, and Drive knobs offer an extremely wide range of sound creation. These controls not only shape the frequencies, but change the characteristics of the tone as well. The Line Out jack on the BB-1X goes beyond a standard DI out, providing a newly crafted and enhanced direct sound for reaching larger audiences through a PA system. The “1X” in the BB-1X’s name represents the pedal’s premium look, sound, and feel. Whether you’re defining your standard tone or spicing up your sound for soloing, the BB-1X Bass Driver is a must-have for every modern bassist.
SYB-5 Bass Synthesizer
The BOSS SYB-3 was the world’s first bass synthesizer to be packed into a compact pedal, and it found favor with experimentalists and tone aficionados alike. Today, the next-generation bass-synth pedal has arrived: the SYB-5. Utilizing the latest in DSP technology, the SYB-5 faithfully reproduces the classic sound characteristics of analog synthesizers with enhanced punch and power.
Tone Hammer®
This preamp/direct box is so strong and powerful it could only be called the “Tone Hammer”! Based on the respected OBP-3 preamp, the Tone Hammer® features fully sweepable midrange frequencies in addition to bass and treble controls. With the Tone Hammer’s pristine D.I. you are set for the studio or the stage. To give this tone shaping unit the ultimate flexibility we introduce our proprietary Adaptive Gain Shaping circuitry (AGS). AGS allows the player to kick in an additional gain structure and EQ with the “stomp” of a button. You can now go from modern slap sounds to vintage or overdriven. 18 volt operation gives the Tone Hammer® plenty of headroom to reproduce the most dynamic playing style. Separate GAIN and MASTER controls allow you to dial in just the right gain structure for any instrument. The Tone Hammer® is the essential preamp/direct box for every bassist’s tool box.
Grizzly Bass
Overdrive Distortion effects, make your bass (or guitar) growl like a grizzly! Grizzly Bass is a different kind of animal created with the pro player in mind. Like a tube pre-amp but without the fragile tubes or heavy transformers. Drawing from the experience and technological advancements of the Holy Fire, MW1 and Funkulator; Grizzly Bass has untouchable studio specs and rugged aesthetics to match. Typical distortion relies on ridiculous gain and clunky forced-clipping, which creates unwanted noise. Which in turn needs to be filtered out—and that makes for thin, nasal tone. Ever wonder why pedals intended for guitar don’t work well for bass? This is why. But Grizzly Bass borrows proprietary wave-shaping technology from the Holy Fire to achieve tube-like saturation without adding noise or heavy filters—preserving your bass tone all the way down to 20Hz. And it sounds great on guitars too! This technology makes Grizzly Bass a very musical pedal that responds to your touch. Softer attack velocity gives you a cleaner sound, but when you dig in, the Grizzly Bass starts to roar. It's so touch-responsive that it's easy to control the saturation with your playing dynamics alone. When you plug directly into a sound system or use a solid-state amp, Grizzly Bass is a great alternative to a bulky, fragile and expensive tube preamp.
Diamond BCP1 – Bass Comp Jr
The original Diamond Bass Comp was released in August, 2009 and quickly became a hit with bass players for its smooth, tone enhancing sound and ease of use. While bassists loved the sound and feel of the Bass Comp, not everyone was quite as enamoured of the size or the power requirements. Based on feedback from players across the globe, it became clear that some players had a need for a smaller, easier to power version. The Diamond Bass Comp Jr is the result! Following in the footsteps of the original, the new Bass Comp Jr offers the same high quality optical compression and a simple but effective ‘Tilt style’ EQ control with selectable center frequency (900Hz or 250Hz), an extended frequency response and high headroom to suit a wide variety of passive or active 4/5/6 string basses. All in a smaller, more pedalboard friendly package that is compatible with a wider range of pedalboard power supplies. The Diamond Bass Comp Jr is designed to be powered from either a 9V battery (included), standard 9V negative tip DC power adapter or from a multi pedal power supply. However, for maximum headroom and tone, we recommend using a negative tip, 18V power supply. Current draw of the Bass Comp Jr is very low- only 20mA. Note that the Comp Jr is the opposite polarity of the original Bass Comp- power supplies are not interchangeable between the two units.
Diamond BCP1 – Bass Comp
The original Diamond Compressor has become one of our most well known products, loved by players for it’s smooth response and ability to enhance your instruments tone. Turns out that bass players have discovered the Compressor (many via it’s discussion on the TalkBass online forums) and while it generally works great for 4-string passive basses, the performance with 5/6 strings and high output active basses was less than ideal as the frequency response and headroom was optimized for guitar use. Our response to that interest is the new dedicated Bass Comp, the first Diamond pedal designed specifically for bass players. With low frequency response extending down to 20Hz and increased headroom, the Bass Compressor is ideal for 4/5/6 string basses, both active and passive. We’ve also revoiced the Tilt EQ control, offering bassists the choice of the original 900Hz tilt point or a new 250Hz setting, accessible via a mini toggle.
