The Gretsch 6122 JR combines the classic Country Gent package with a scaled down and comfy body. Fairly rare, they only made these for a few years. Top notch made in Japan quality with excellent specs throughout. The 14" semi hollow body is made of laminated maple for enhanced sustain and feedback resistance. The 24.6 inch scale maple neck features a bound ebony fingerboard with thumbprint inlays. A duo of Filtertron humbuckers deliver big tone. A Bigsby tailpiece, Tuneomatic bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners round out the hardware. The finish is classic Gretsch walnut stain and is set off by gold hardware. A very cool guitar for anyone looking for a unique take on the classic Gretsch package.
Like most recent Gretsch guitars, this Jr plays and sounds nice. The neck is straight, the action is low and the frets are good. A nice player. The pickups sound great delivering classic Gretsch sparkle. A good sounding and versatile guitar. This is a nice used guitar in VG-EX condition. It shows normal playwear including light pick an clearcoat scratches as well as light to moderate indents and some wear on the gold hardware. Normal wear and tear. Comes in original hardshell case.
Gretsch no longer offer the 6122-JR. A shame really as these were nice guitars that offered a lot more vibe than your average hollowbody. A regular 6122 will set you back $2549 at the superstores. Here's a very unique guitar for less. BUY IT NOW and own a great Gretsch!
