The Pettyjohn LIFT is the third offering in their new single pedal format, The Foundry Series, and it draws inspiration from their Original Signature Pedal, The PreDrive. The LIFT is a studio-grade Buffer/Boost pedal utilizing the best of modern Discrete Opamp technology. The LIFT is built with the same top shelf components as the PreDrive so it retains its audiophile level performance. However, Pettyjohn has taken it a step further with several notable changes! The LIFT operates as an Always-On pedal, being either in Buffer mode or Boost mode, switchable via the footswitch. The Buffer is a truly state-of-the-art circuit, featuring a single Discrete Opamp powered by a dual-rail power supply providing huge headroom and tuned for absolute transparency. The Discrete Opamp gently ‘lifts’ the tonal quality without un-wanted color, unlocking every nuance of your guitars tone with a musical, 3-D depth. The Buffer mode has an input gain control that allows the user to boost the signals core gain slightly with absolute sonic fidelity. The Boost mode, activated via the footswitch activates the “Boost” gain knob and unlocks loads of clean gain! The LIFT boost has 24dB of clean gain on tap at standard 9V operation and if you need more, there is an internal toggle switch that boosts the max gain to a whopping 32 dB of CLEAN gain, recommended when using an 18V power adaptor. Whether you just need a small jump to bring your lead out front or if you need to push your amp over the top into sweet high gain tones, the LIFT can handle it with ease. Although the LIFT features one of the cleanest, most musical Buffer and Boost circuits on the planet, the LIFT’s features don’t stop there. We equipped the LIFT with a studio-grade EQ, featuring recording console styled High Cut and Low Cut Filters. Both filters start at the extreme edge of the audible range and gently sweep towards the mid-range with a roll off rate of 6 dB per octave. The Filters are very transparent and allow the user to shape the signal while leaving your guitars fundamental tone completely intact. Furthermore, the mini toggles on the LIFT provide a unique function. The mini toggles are used to assign each filter, which can each be independently active only in Boost mode or always active! Assignable filters allow for a large variety of creative applications not possible with your average boost pedal. Treble boost, mid boost and bass boost are all possible in various shades, as well as being able to use the pedal as a simple EQ without extra gain. The LIFT is a culmination of almost 3 years of R&D in the application of Discrete Opamp application! The LIFT is now the first pedal to offer pure Discrete Opamp based tone on 9V-18V standard pedal power and have assignable EQ. We are excited to release a serious Tool for Tone that we know surpasses anything available on the market today!

Analog Man, in collaboration with Jim Weider, have come out with the pedal we have been looking for for many years - the King Of Tone (KoT). There are many overdrive pedals on the market, but none of them have been quite right, preserving the tone of the guitar and adding the right amount of overdrive without compromise. There are some good clean boosts available, but they just don't have enough drive to really give your amp the distortion you often want. There are some newer OD pedals that have a great frequency response, but to me they sound too DRY, a bit sterile and cardboardy. There are also some nice sounding pedals available but their sound is too "saturated", losing the touch and feel of your guitar. That is where the King Of Tone pedal comes in - it has enough warm overdrive but still preserves the tones of your quality guitars and amps. If you are looking for a big change in your sound, or a lot of distortion, this is probably not the pedal for you.

The El Rey Dorado is your go-to box for that Plexi tone. Yes, there is a wide range of 1960s Plexi Amp Tone in terms of power, which tubes are installed, which speakers and/or cabinet is used, but the El Rey Dorado hits the core tone bullseye! One of the many reference points for the tone was my own JTM 45/100® full stack. (It’s a dead-on reissue Marshall® did with crazy cool custom-made–vintage-recreation speakers and dual transformers to transfer the load of the 4 EL-84s!) The El Rey covers a lot of classic British amp tones by featuring two gain modes with the Power Toggle. With the Power Toggle switch you have control over the compression and harmonics. Low Power mode is louder, has more girth, and has fewer harmonics for a more old-school tone. The High Power mode has more compression, more harmonics, and a tighter, more defined tone. Old-school crunch in Low Power mode, super lead tones in the High Power mode.

In the late 1970's the overdrive pedal was arguably perfected when Japanese engineers designed the sound that we now know as the heart and soul of so many of our favorite artists, recordings and sounds. Players ranging from The Edge, Trey Anastasio, Buddy Guy, Kirk Hammett, John Mayer, SRV, Carlos Santana and thousands more from every possible genre have utilized and depended on this classic iconic green box. If a single effect pedal was chosen to board a Voyager 3 mission and be solely responsible for showing the universe the sound of overdrive, it would undoubtably be Tube Screamer. It is probably the most produced and sold pedal in the history of guitar pedals! The Bonsai is our tribute to one of the greatest pedals ever created. Following in the steps of our Muffuletta (released 2015), the Bonsai utilizes a simple rotary knob to switch through nine classic, vintage, rare, or hard to find variations of the Screamer. Creating the Bonsai became an archeological dig of sorts that sent us deep into the history of this circuit by examining dozens of versions, variations and replications. At the end of it all, Josh chose nine of his personal and favorite units and we painstakingly replicated every nuance and aspect of each pedal. One of the most challenging parts of this project was accounting for component drift as many of these pedals were decades old and the internal components had strayed from their original values. Each pedal was individually replicated using our Audio Precision analyzer and various other methods that allowed us to perfectly replicate every aspect of the sound and feel of the unit. It's important to know that the Bonsai is not a "box of mods," it is exact replications of these nine units all housed in one box! The Bonsai is exact replication, not emulation. When you choose a mode on the Bonsai rotary, you are actually activating components specific to each mode and playing the unit that Josh chose along with all the quirks, drift, vintage mojo, and individuality that a vintage pedal has.

The JHS Pedals AT is Andy Timmons signature overdrive pedal that gives Andy his unmistakable lead and rhythm tone. Upon purchasing a JHS Angry Charlie in 2013, Andy began using it as his primary tone and soon after got in touch with Josh Scott about modifying it for his needs. Through going back and forth and tailoring it to Andy’s tastes, the “@“ was born and eventually released into production in 2016.
