6 Slot High Current lunchbox®

The API 500-6B lunchbox is a 6-slot rack designed to accept all API standard 5.25" X 1.5" modules. This quality allows an engineer the flexibility to bring along specialized EQ effects to any situation: 550A, 550b or 560. The lunchbox has an internal power supply with a rear panel selected AC voltage switch and a removable power cord. The input/output jacks are XLR. The lunchbox comes standard with a +48 volt internal phantom power supply, bussed to pin 15 for interface with the API 512c Mic Preamplifier. API makes several modules for the 500-6B, including the 512c Mic Preamplifier, the 525 Compressor, the 527 Compressor, the 550A 3-band EQ, the 550b 4-band EQ and the 560 Graphic EQ. Combinations of these modules make perfect stereo recording packages (two 512cs and two 550bs) or vocalist's box (one 512c, two EQs and one 527).

The 436C Compressor Amplifier is a self-powered, level-controlling amplifier with a versatility which makes it a desirable part of most audio installations. In response to a strong input signal, it will reduce gain up to 30 db automatically, rapidly, and quietly, without the introduction of thumps. The 436C utilizes variable threshold/compression ratio and release time controls, permitting maximum flexibility in virtually any type of installation. The 436C Amplifier is intended for use in automatic level-control applications in recording. The front panel contains all controls and a meter which indicates db of compression and VU. Dual Vandergraph

The Shadow Hills Dual Vandergraph is a direct descendant of the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor and maintains its reputation of unquestionable quality and exceptional performance - in a 500 Series format. It’s inner workings are developed from the discrete gain cells of the Mastering Compressor which are combined with the Optograph’s extremely flexible Sidechain Filter matrix. This combination provides great possibilities for new recording techniques and the dynamic control. This stereo compressor’s fully discrete audio path is Class-A and features Shadow Hills' custom Iron Transformers. The controls are: Ratio, Filter, Compression and Output Level. Just like the Mastering Compressor, the Compression and Output Level controls are Swiss made twenty-four position attenuators. The Ratio switch, selects between: 1.2: 1, 2.5: 1, 4: 1, 8: 1. In addition to changing ratios, each selection changes preset attack and recover times. The Sidechain Filter Matrix controls the frequency sensitivity of the side-chain. The positions are: 90 hertz, 150 hertz, 250 hertz and Bandpass.
