Distortion Pedal The Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal from CNZ Audio fills a broad range in the middle of the road over the distortion spectrum. This is the pedal for you if you are looking to add a slight, rough edge to your classic style or dive deep into distortion drive with classic heavy metal! Three distinct types of distortion are available by using the three position toggle switch on the pedal. The normal setting gives a softer, warmer tone. The tight setting has a bit more dirt and higher end tone than the normal setting, and the classic setting has an extremely dirty sound for the metal head. Between all three choices, every end of distortion is covered on this pedal. The Level knob essentially adjusts the volume or output from the pedal. For more output, turn it clockwise and for less, turn it counterclockwise. Using this level knob makes it easy to control the level from the pedal to match just the right amount of sound. The Tone knob allows you to adjust the literal tone from this pedal. Turning it clockwise will bring out a more high end sound that's good for solos and turning it counterclockwise brings out a warmer, less dirty sound and fills the music well. The Gain knob in the middle allows for adjusting the amount of distortion in the overall mix from this pedal. For more distortion, turn it clockwise and for less distortion, turn it counterclockwise. Unlike its cousin the FD2, the FD3 uses both a JFET input and a JFET op-amp, giving it the most tube-like sound you can get out of a tubeless pedal. Along with great sound, these JFET’s give the FD3 an ultra-high Input impedance which allows the pedal to mate with any type/gain of pickup and react well to changes in your guitar’s volume control.

What’s this, another touch-sensitive, dynamic, natural sounding overdrive/distortion to confuse the marketplace? Nope, this is the Fulltone “Secret Frequency. “Secret Freq.” for short. Although it does the gig-friendly clean boost and OD thing as good as any, it goes well past that when asked to, right into Rock territory while retaining a natural sound. The BUSS brings back the classic sounds of The Barber Burn Unit and Super Sport pedals (hence the name BUSS). The Burn Unit's sounds are big and fat, and were tuned to match a $50K Dumble ODS amp, which was sitting in our shop for nearly a year while we listened and tuned the Burn Unit to perfection. The Super Sport mode is designed to nail down the muscular modified Marshall tones of the late 70s and 80s . The first toggle switches between the Burn Unit and Super Sport sounds, while the second toggle selects levels of harmonics and dynamics which can be applied to both the Burn Unit and Super Sport sounds.
