Description

The Allen Chihuahua ("chi-wah-wah") takes the home practice amp up to a whole new level. A Class A single-ended tube amp using a 6V6 for 6 watts or a 6L6 for 10 watts (selector switch on back) to drive a 10" Copperhead speaker with a full tone stack including my foot-switchable RAW control and all tube driven spring reverb! The reverb recovery has an extra gain stage which is very welcome for great overdriven tones. The RAW control unscoops the mids for a more 5F1 tweed type tone. It has a respectable amount of clean headroom and bottom end authority on bass notes for an amp this size/power. At only 17" by 17" and 24 lbs., it is the perfect grab n' go practice amp. I've added an additional filtering stage to get rid of the typical "single-ended background hum" normally produced by these little amps so it is great for recording, too! All top notch components throughout including a aluminum chassis, U.S. made power transformer, Heyboer output transformer, Accutronics 9" reverb tank, Switchcraft jacks, Carling switches, Mallory M150 tone capacitors, etc. Also available as a head and in kit form.

Cub III Hand-Wired Legacy Series

Cub III features a switchable A or B valve in the first position pre-amp. You can select between 12AX7 or EF86 pre-amp tube by a toggle or foot switch. We have added a selectable gain on the bass and treble tone stack to run hotter, or choose to stay in standard Cub mode. This feature can be used as a classic gain boost. Sweet with plenty of sparkle and grind with single coils. Very touch sensitive. Channel 2 is high gain and dripping with complex mids and tight lows. Full with amazing amounts of note definition.
