NASHVILLE, TN – April 5, 2017 – 3RD POWER is excited to announce the new Wooly Coats Spanky MKII amplifier to its line of award winning amplifiers, hand-built in the company’s East Nashville, Tennessee shop. Operating on a pair of 6V6 output tubes, the new 15 watt Spanky MKII is 3RD Power’s response to overwhelming customer demand for a Spanky combo amp with reverb and HybridMASTER. The Spanky MKII is a single channel 112 combo amplifier that expands on the Wooly Coats Spanky brand of clean American guitar tones, with its’ unique mid-range frequency control that takes you from Blackface to Tweed, by introducing core professional features of it’s bigger brother, the Extra Spanky.

Cub III Hand-Wired Legacy Series

Cub III features a switchable A or B valve in the first position pre-amp. You can select between 12AX7 or EF86 pre-amp tube by a toggle or foot switch. This new feature is drastically different sonically in gain structure, and character from any previous Cub models. We have added a selectable gain on the bass and treble tone stack to run hotter, or choose to stay in standard Cub mode. This feature can be used as a classic gain boost. Combine this with the EF86 pre-amp and now you’re in territory previously unavailable from older Bad Cat Cub models.

If you have ever wanted the amazing tone and feel of our Black Cat 30, only with a more manageable volume - look no further than the Black Cat 15. Just like the 30-watt older brother, the Black Cat 15 is dripping in three dimensional cleans. Push up the gain and go from soft chiming break- up, on through to thick complex gain. Running in Class A, this rig is oozing with harmonics.

Hot Cat Hand-Wired Legacy Series

Sharing the lineage and design of the award winning Hot Cat 30, only in a 15 watts, club friendly platform. Two channels running into a dual EL84, Class A power section. Channel 1, the cleans are 3-D lush and chime. When pushed the cleans are full and punch through with a healthy dose of thick crunch. Full, round and tight with humbuckers. Sweet with plenty of sparkle and grind with single coils. Very touch sensitive. Channel 2 is high gain and dripping with complex mids and tight lows. Full with amazing amounts of note definition. Ninth's come out with upper harmonics resting above the fundamentals. This is an amazing class A high gain circuit.

Cub 15R USA Player Series

The USA Player Series Cub preserves the purity of the original Cub circuit while offering increased flexibility. This improved design offers the ability to select between a 12AX7 or EF86 pre-amp tube using the mini toggle on the faceplate or the included footswitch. This new feature offers far more gain and versatility than previous Cub models. We also added a selectable tone stack boost in both modes to give this pure single channel amp four unique gain stages. It can achieve everything from the traditional Cub 12AX7 chime to complex EF86 gain tones that were unachievable on earlier versions of the Cub.

"Luca" Jeffrey Kunde Signature Amp

Bad Cat Luca is just that! The Luca has a simple single channel preamp based on the 12AX7 side of the Wild Cat. The Luca has a 40W EL34 based power section running in Class A. The control panel consists of the classic Bad Cat preamp: volume, five-way selector, bass, treble, cut and a master volume that can be switched out of the circuit. The Luca is built on a 12AX7 platform with all of the thick articulate and punchy mid-range sweetness that goes with it. The Luca offers a switch between the five-way tone selector and the traditional bass and treble tone stack. A feature not found on the Wild Cat's channel one. The Luca was made custom for touring artists and was just so good we had to offer them to everyone.
