Milkman Sound The Amp on RigShare
What is The Amp? First and foremost, it’s a 50W Guitar amplifier. The preamp is based around a single 12AX7 running at high voltage in a discrete Class A circuit. The tube preamp reacts with a guitar the same way any tube amplifier does: it generates harmonics and the sweet sounding high fidelity tone that tubes are known for. Along with tube EQ. there is on-board reverb and tremolo effects so that The Amp can be used as a grab and go amplifier. Foot switches for bypassing the effects are built in. A Class D power section delivers 50 watts into 8ohms, or 100 watts into 4ohms. The Speakon combination jack for speaker output takes either a standard 1/4” connection or a locking Speakon connector for extra security. The Amp has an integrated headphone amplifier which sounds identical to the output from a speaker. This is perfect for practice, auditioning pedals, or for those times when noise is not appropriate. The Amp can operate with no speaker attached so it can live on a pedalboard and go wherever the pedals go. Speaking of travel, The Amp has a universal IEC power input. It can run from 100 to 260 VAC. No matter where it is on Earth, it can be plugged into a wall socket and used with no need for additional power accessories. How about a compact studio quality tube preamp? The internal XLR output delivers a balanced line level output. There is no modeling or simulation involved, no menus or presets to give option anxiety. It is very straightforward and simple to get great tone from the tube preamp of The Amp and use it as the front end for a modeling system, recording setup, or for playing direct on stage. The Amp also has “pedal level” output where it can be used as the front end of a pedal board or as an amp like effect on the back end of a pedal board. There is no substitute for the marriage between a magnetic guitar pickup and the first stage of a tube amplifier, and this is something that is missing with modern pedal board setups. Using The Amp in front of a pedal chain will add harmonics and tube musicality to the entire signal chain starting right where it matters most: between a guitar pickup and the grid of a tube. Using The Amp further down the signal chain creates unique tonal possibilities. It plays well with pedals, and it can add extra EQ or reverb to an existing amplifier. The Amp can drive the input of an amplifier as an extra tube gain stage. It can be a backup for a vintage amp needing service, or used in place of anemic backline gear on your travel gig. At 2.5lbs, and with so many different uses, The Amp may be your new best friend.

Ecstasy Blue

The Ecstasy amplifier was born in 1992 and decades later Bogner is still hand building each amp, one at a time, right here in Los Angeles, California. The Ecstasy blue pedal captures the classic blue channel tone of this legendary amplifier, acclaimed for its ability to deliver iconic and classic rock-n-roll crunch. Everyone knows that blue delivers stunning Plexi tones, but when the going gets rough, make no mistake - blue can crush on demand. Reinhold designed the Ecstasy blue pedal with four discrete Class A gain stages and with no op-amps or diode clipping, mirroring the circuitry of the Ecstasy amplifier's blue channel. This revolutionary approach provides clarity, touch sensitivity and note separation never before achieved in overdrive pedals. The Ecstasy blue is powered by a standard 9V battery or 9VDC power supply. Reinhold's advanced circuitry internally elevates the voltage a substantially higher level. This higher voltage provides a greater dynamic range which closely resembles the feel of the Ecstasy amplifier's legendary tube design. Features: True bypass Boost function with independently lit volume and gain controls Master Controls: volume, treble, middle, bass and gain Variac On/Off switch: adds a "dropped voltage" dynamic compression to the feel and sound Mode Switch: Plexi and Blue offers vintage lower gain or modified higher gain levels Pre-Eq Switch: B1, N and B2 settings control "openness" and presence of higher range harmonics Structure Switch: 100, 101 and 20th Anniversary settings offer EQ shifts and gain structures from various eras/models of Ecstasy amplifiers Jacks: input, output and remote. Remote jack allows control of the on/off and boost functions via a remote switching unit Low Battery Indicator: LEDs blink when battery voltage drops below critical threshold. Premium components include: Double sided gold plated circuit boards, German WIMA capacitors, Japanese Nichicon capacitors and gold plated relays, Carling switches and more

Ecstasy Red

The Ecstasy amplifier was born in 1992 and decades later Bogner is still hand building each amp, one at a time, right here in Los Angeles, California. The Ecstasy red pedal captures the mystical red channel tone of this legendary amplifier, famous for its incendiary higher gain crunch and lead tones. Using interactive controls to adjust gain and EQ settings, the red pedal delivers a wide range of expressive tones from vintage overdrive to ripping modern high gain. Ideal for aggressive playing styles, the red pedal boasts the outrageous heavy tones that get Bogner amps into the backlines of rock's most notable players. Reinhold designed the Ecstasy red pedal with five discrete Class A gain stages and with no op-amps or diode clipping, mirroring the circuitry of the Ecstasy amplifier's red channel. This revolutionary approach provides clarity, touch sensitivity and note separation never before achieved in overdrive pedals. The Ecstasy red is powered by a standard 9V battery or 9VDC power supply. Reinhold's advanced circuitry internally elevates the voltage a substantially higher level. La Grange

The La Grange pedal is designed to emulate the famous British "Plexi" amplifiers from the mid 60's. The wide variety of controls and switches, give you decades of legendary plexi tones, all the way up to the era of the modded amps from the late 80's and throughout the 90's. An independent boost function, with a level control, can be activated via it's own foot-switch to be either used as a stand alone boost, or together with the La Grange's main circuitry. Essentially two independent pedals, with the boost being in series after the La Grange! Reinhold designed the La Grange pedal with an op-amp input, followed by five discrete Class A gain stages and incorporated Germanium diode clipping. This approach minimizes the input noise floor while retaining touch sensitivity and clarity throughout the entire gain range. The La Grange pedal is powered by a standard 9V battery or 9VDC regulated power supply. Reinhold's advanced circuitry internally elevates the voltage to a substantially higher level. The higher voltage provides a greater dynamic range which closely resembles the feel of a real amplifier; therefore running the pedal above 9VDC will not improve dynamics and even can damage the circuit, therefore only use a regulated 9VDC power supply! Features: True bypass Independent boost with level control Master Controls: volume, tone, channel blend and gain controls Channel Blend simulates the two channels of a four input 67-69 plexi amplifier 3 position gain switch for low (plexi), medium (normal) and high (modded) gain structure Variac mode for "brown sound", added dynamic compression with enhanced harmonics 2 position presence switch for overall brightness 3 position structure switch for a tight focused, fat loose or in between sound and feel Jacks: input, output and exp. for foot controllable gain via the output of a volume pedal. Low Battery Indicators: LEDs blink when battery voltage drops below critical threshold.
